Problem cured was a loose clip on one of the pipes allowing coolant to get past.

Thanks mate. Couldnt see any moisture on the water pump side of the engine and the foot well isnt wet .I will have a good look about tomorrow with it running to see if I can spot anything.There is no smell of coolant at all which is a little strange.

It seems I have an issue with the coolant in my vr. Noticed it was just under the min mark last weekend so topped it up to max line,checked it today and there was only about an inch or so left in the header tank. There is no sign of any leaks that I can see and there is no oil/water contamination.I did a little google searching and see that the thermostat housing can cause problems.As I am a total noob to the car any advice of this would be greatly appreciated. Also when I got the car there seemed to be some crystalisation around the top of the header tank,the cap hold pressure but could it be

Looks like it is the rocker gasket. Has anybody got a link to the one I need as my local factors want stupid money for it along with a new inlet one.

Think you could be right mate,after having the climate on it isnt as loud

Had a good listen around today, the noise is not from the engine bay 100% from behind the dash. Seems to be there as soon as I start the car however I think it is to do with the climet control as I had it on today on the way to work and back and after a while wasnt as loud so could well be the fan bearings ,Question is how hard is the fan unit to get to and grease the bearings or is it best to just live with it.

Since getting the vr there has been an intermitant whine noise coming from behind the dash,It sounds like its coming from the middle behind the climate control area.Everything works as it should but does anybody have an idea on what it could be and what I could check.

Bought my 1st Vr6 yesterday for cheap. There is an oil leak on the drivers side of the engine somewhere near the top what should I be checking first .
