Thanks for the reply. No way to id my engine? Might have to as you say, source a full loom and ecu, mayb buy a full car? Didn't really want to go down that route. Seams a waste, won't use any of the car really.

How do I find out which ecu I need? Fitting a vr6 in a mk1, missing the ecu. How do find out which ecu to source? Engine is an obd1 with coil pack, mayb a 1994? I think I need 021 906 258 AF But that's an educated guess.

Recently acquired a schrick vr6 engine. Apparently built in germany many moons ago, lightweight internals, scrick inlet and cams, ect ect! Anyway, engines been stood for years. Turns over fine, seams ok. The inlet manifold has a vacuum actuator on it, this is damaged. Where can I get a replacement? Allso it should have sum vacuum control, this is missing? Any ideas? Thanks

Fitted new tensioner bolt yesterday and its cured the rumble noise. Old bolt appeares to be sticking half way, when you mess with it the bolt springs open. Full of nasty stuff as well.

7.5 fronts 8.5 rears, 195 40 17 all round. A little stretchy. Need sum camber on the rear, best way?

Bbs rc split rims. Grey centre + polished rim. Managed to remove finger nails polishin them today. Iam goin 195 40, extra stretchy. Will get em on this week. Ill have to raise it a little, mega low.

Ive done sum searching and the bolt can stick with age causing noise, more so when warm. Hopefully if i change this bolt it will quieten down. There cheap on ebay £28, part no 021109507b. Is this the later type? (springy)

Tensioner bolt? Thats loads cheaper. Changed the oil twice in the last 2 months. Cant remember the grade, euros supplied of reg.

My vr has grown a new noise! When you start it/switch it off you get a funny rattle/grumble noise. I was thinkin chain. It isnt there when running, or when started cold only on warm start and warm sitch off. Any ideas? Is it sumthing else? Or is time to get the chain done?

Will be fine. You may have issues if mega low. But you can allways raise it 10mm if too low.

Think ill have to raise the old girl up a tad. The 8.5" rears will stick out like mad. Ill try and upload pics.

How low to the ground is your VR? Do you use your lowered car as a daily or just for fun? My highline is LOW! Front splitter is 3" from floor, subframe a little bit lower i think. This makes for awkward drivin, dont do speed bumps, get stuck on the smallest things!! Floor is battered, just fitted new sump all great fun. Any funny lowered incidents?

Will a golf cab 3.5 steering wheel fit my mk3 vr6? The airbag is different but is it doable?

I used h&r on previous golf. But took a chance on sum of ebay, from latvia. Cheaper and very well made, fit perfectly.

Run the car for a couple of hours and cant find any evidence of white on oil cap or oil in expansion tank. So i reckon its cured. Happy bunnys all round!
