Fast Road Mk3 And the odd trackday
mk3luke posted a topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Hi Guys And Girls... My Mk3 VR is getting a bit long in the tooth, 137k miles, and coming up for 20 years old, It has been played with in the past ( not buy me) and goes really well, put out 200bhp and 210lbft on the dyno a couple of years ago. Its been chipped (i assume) decat and a k&n airfilter with an aftermarket back box. And lowered on what look like std shocks (very rusty) with eibach springs, looks like 40-60mm, not slammed but not high rise like a std vr6. Now as time has gone on, its a very crashy ride, and the front can feel very boaty on slow bumps, also when b -

Having some problems with my vr over the past few months, Started by once not starting, just cranking over, never done that in the 3 years i've had it, always started 1st turn of the key. Then it started no problem, A few weeks later, started 1st time moved off the drive and parked up, switched off, went inside for a bit came back out then nothing, just cranking and cranking, ( cant hear fuel pump running). Left it for a few hours then started 1st try again! Once running no problems, full power, no mis fires etc. Now last week on my way to work i was stuck in traffic a

here is my mk3 vr6. decat, k & n filter, remap, remus backbox, 133k on clock

i had to go before the vr6t was run up, shame. yeah i guess mine must have a chip / or mapped at some point in its life! when eddie has finished the write up will be nice to see what i missed! cheers luke

i was at garage streamline in wandsworth with a fair few members on sunday. just waiting for my graph so i can post it up. but i was very impressed with my vr's output. i know it has a de cat, a k&n cone filter and a aftermarket back box. anything else i cant be sure of, but when i bought it i believe it was standard. it pulled 200.8bhp and arround 205-210lbft of torque! makes me think of a chip or remap of sorts. std power quoted at 174bhp i believe?!? anyone else have surprises like that? cheers luke

VR6OC INSURANCE scheme with CHRIS KNOTT :: 0800 917 2274
mk3luke replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Car Insurance Discussion
Hi there, my insurance is due soon on my vr6, im 30 an have had the car 1 year, prev insurance was £360, fully comp 1500miles, classic policy so although 1 year claim free , no ncd built up. Does this affect me getting a good deal with yourselves? Car is lowered and has a k&n air filter. thanks luke -
like the look of those wheels! cant wait to see them fitted. what are wobble bolts then? also, if the engine has still got the spacer plate fitted but no super charger, do you know what compression ratio your running? if its lower than standard you will be low on power, maybe the cams etc bring it back up a bit?!? either get rid of the plate for more n/a power or get a charger and make lots more!! looks nice though!
-
Thanks! They are all very different.
