  1. So, I was at the garage the other day.. I was going to change the driveshafts and the control arms - But the control arms did not fit, and the driveshafts had slack in them! I did not get to do anything (besides changing to summer wheels, and fixing the brake-shields - And taking it for a little 'spin' Now I'll have to get hold of those poor people who sold me bad parts
  2. Hey guys! So, I have heard that the original gearbox may not enjoy getting beaten up too much.. It will break easily under hard driving. Also, original gearboxes may not be so easy to come by. Are there any list/overview of what gearboxes are compatible with the VR6 engine, and how much modification that will have to be done? I tried searching a bit, and I found an asnwer saying "V5 gearbox will fit". And that's about it :-) Any help would be appreciated - I just want to know what options I have the day my gearbox breaks. :-)
  3. Aw, that sucks mate! You should be good, applying some sealant to it.. (Loctite, for instance). But, the next time you want that screw out, you'll be struggling against the laws of loctite - You're going to have a bad time!
  4. The mass meter should be fine - Have you tried clearing codes? It could be an old error code.. Try first to erease all error codes, then do a little bit of driving. EDIT: I am pretty convinced that sensor issues are making the ECU give a wrong mixture in the combustion chambers.. Although, swapping plugs and cables would not hurt.. ;-) EDIT 2: Ah, I see you cleared the codes - Did you re-check after a short drive? EDIT 3: For the MAF-issues, check this : http://easyautodiagnostics.com/testing_maf_sensor/maf_sensor_testing_1.php
  5. Wow, Pete.. I read through a couple of the first and last pages here, incredibly beautiful Corrado! Cheers!
  6. Hello guys! Quick question - I have a good starter from my 1.8L daily MKIII, and the one in the VR6 is kind-of bad.. Are they compatible with eachother? :-)
  7. If anybody cares, here's a picture of both of them! That green GL is my daily..
  8. Pretty rigorous.. They can be quite picky! :-) Next one (in two years) I will have to weld new outer sills.. Maybe inner ones too.. EDIT: For my daily..! The VR6 have "perfectly" alright sills ;-)
  9. Hey guys! This is a poor, tired VR I picked up in October 2012. This little guy have run 308K kilometers, and is starting to feel it. I picked him up for 10 000 NOK (Approximately 1200 GBP), and he have been standing still ever since (Started a couple of times a month, just enough to reach a normal temperature. I had him tested at a local shop, and they found two A4-sized pages of faults with it - I am going to start out with the most vital ones. It's going to need new driveshafts, control arms, exhaust system, engine gaskets, timing chains/tensioners/rails etc. The exterior does not look pe
