So when i have the pump on and i lock the car via the drivers side door, the boot and drivers door both lock, so im guessing its a passenger side fault... The window also drops 2 inch when i lock and unlock it?
-
I will have a check, after some more research, someone has said it could be a leak which is causing the pump to stay on! The electric window did stop working aswell but is back to normal!

Hi all, Was at VW Festival over the Weekend, Woke up on sat morning and my battery was dead, Turns out my central locking pump/module is staying on? I can hear a constant buzz from it? I just disconnected it to get about for the time being, but has anyone any idea what it could be? Cheers Dan

Hi all, a while back i rolled my arches to fit my modern lines, which meant i had to remove the trip including the rivets holding the arches, i used a mastic to hold them on but it hasn't lasted, can anyone advise anything to use? Cheers Dan

Tried that sequence and nothing? ill maybe have to try a few more! Know anything about the sunroof? if it has something to do with the windows, The sunroof does open the back part and goes down ok, but doesnt actually slide open, unless its not actually supposed too? -

Just tested the Golf then, and there was no noise or restriction in any gear? Haven't accelerated hard, but is there any way i can check visually with out pulling the gearbox off? Cheers -

Hi, just drove my car and had to stop quite quickly, im guessing its the clutch but im not sure! The car sets off fine and i can find all gears, but when im in second gear and i cruise along at say 15mph, the car feels like its being stopped by something and i think theres a clicking noise coming back up through my clutch pedal, i dont dare take it for a real test drive in case it completely goes, Im sure the thrust bearing was making a whering noise a while back, but the fact it stopped made me forget about it? Could the thrust bearing be nackered? ill obviously change the full kit if its loo

Hi, im just sorting my VR6 for MOT and am changing all bulbs to freshen the old dingy orange lights, as i came to change the sidelights i noticed there different, One side has 2 wires going to the white connector (right picture below) and the other has just one and is an old style fitment and bulb, Could this just be due to a headlight change? Cheers Dan

Blue sensor, Thermostat housing, Wire snapped?
djmac replied to djmac's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Thanks for the info, the wire has pretty much snapped inside the plastic on the connector so cant get a good connection, i think i will have to get a new clip and re-attach it into the loom -
Ive ordered what apears to be a universal pressure sender for most vw, it claimed it suits the 1800 VR6 but reading the info on the sendor and it says 0.75 - 1.05 pressure, where as the origonal says 1.2 -1.4! Could i run the lower pressure or will it just burst and mean im going to have to do it all again? Cheers

Just realised when i checked for a leak, the car had been ran dry of oil, its been sat for the last month as ive been waiting for parts and now on fire up, i noticed its leaking from the same place, but... iits coming out the top of one of the sensors? So im guessing its knackered lol! Its the one on the left side, yellow wire if i remember correctly? Anyone have a part number for that sensor or which sensor it is? Oil Temp? Cheers Dan
-
Ha loving these replies! Just to let you know the leak has stopped so anyone who is finding a leak mid engine, Should have a go at changing these 2 copper washers, cheap as chips and dead simple to do! I did take the full front end off just to check for any other oil but can be done without! Just watch the poxy thermostat!!!
-
Hi all, just a quick question! ive noticed when putting the thermostat housing back together that i have snapped a BLUE wire, leading to the BLUE sensor! Just wondering what issues this will cause and if i can run my car without it connected? If not ill have to find the same clip and just solder it into the loom, Cheers Dan
-
Got the front end off so i can access the leak better, looks like you were correct Lukey, wiped around the senders and oil re apeared, nice simple fix! Shame ive nocked my thermostat housing and caused a leak... Never simple!
-
Thanks for the advice mate, ill have a look after work today! Knowing my luck, it will be alot worse ha!

Hi, I noticed i had quite a bad leak on my 1993 VR6 Golf and before i started stripping the front end, i thought id question on here as it may be a common fault? There is quite alot of oil spattered underneath but looks like the main area is on top of the oil filter, Where the 2 sensors go in the top? Any Advice guys? Cheers Dan

Hi, Had a problem with my bonnet catch and my bonnet flew open bending the bonnet and almost smashing my windscreen, thankfully the bonnet lifters stopped it but completely wrecked the bonnet, i have a new bonnet on the way but the actual hingers are bent, not sure if its worth just rebending the hinges which could be difficult to actually align, The fella im getting the bonnet off said he will chuck the hinges in but im not sure how to remove them, Has anyone got any advice? Cheers Dan
