Sorry to revive an old thread, I havr had a knocking noise on my car for ages now, have replaced top mounts, drop links, wishbone bushes and bottom ball joints. Arb bushes seem fine, I hear the knocking when cornering but also when pulling away and coming to a stop...omly hear it at lower speeds (probably cos my car drowns out the noises at higher speeds haha) would you say this was my drive shafts then? Whats the best way to check if they are knackered? Sorry if its a stupid question but never had to check for this problem before. Thanks guys Sent from my GT-I9300

Will the heat affect the paint in anyway? I thought I would have to use a high temp paint :/ Sent from my GT-I9300 -

What did you use to get that finish on the manifold mate? Sent from my GT-I9300 -
So I replaced the bushes and the bottom ball joints yet the noise is still there. Definitely sounds like its coming from the front, im at a loss of ideas now apart from checking the drive shafts and front wheel bearings. The noise happens if im going in a straight line or turning, I hear ot qhen I pull away or am going over bumpy ground, had to go slowly accross a field this weekend and thats when I have he a rd it the worst. Any ideas guys? Sent from my GT-I9300

Ok so which are the cheap makes? Everyone says buy quality ones and I agree but unless I know what makes avoid I wont know the shit makes aha. I bought lemforder top mounts and drop links, gsf dont stock them but ordered them in for me and were doubke the price of the ones they stock lol, lemforder are as far as I know a good quality brand for replacement bushes/mounts. And am I using the ball joint from the r32 too, obviously im just going to use my mk3 wishbone Sent from my GT-I9300

So Vr6pete am I right in saying I can just go to gsf and buy wishbone bushes for a mk4 r32. Do I use the ball joint from the r32 too? Is there any brand to avoid? I was going to buy lemforder ones if I can get them as I heard they are a good make. Sent from my GT-I9300

Im 24 with 1 yrs ncb and I pay £600 fully comprehensive with mods declared. Amazing company to be with, great friendly people who actually suggested mods I should make when I was taking out my original quote and seem to know about cars and dont penalise you fpr making mods to your car. Beat my best quote by a whopping £300! Sent from my GT-I9300

Painting Air Intake Manifold And Plastic Cover.

Im planning on using some montana gold shock black on yhe plastics and the intake manifold, then some of the model paint and a small brush to do all the lettering (the model paint is apparently how another mwmber on here did it) unsure of the colour for the lettering yet, the car is dragon green but I may just go for a nice bright white on the lettering as a complete colour contrast to the black? Sent from my GT-I9300 -
Been reading more on this and everyone is saying its the rear wishbone bushes that you swap for r32 bushes, im pretty sure the noise I have is coming from the front and people are still saying the poly bushes are better up front and its the rear poly bushes that get sloppy and deteriorate??? Now im confused as to what I should do lol. Any more advice much appreciated guys Sent from my GT-I9300

Painting Air Intake Manifold And Plastic Cover.

Cheers for the help guys? Looked at that montana gold range and im liking the choice of colours im definitely going to lacquer the plastic covers but ill leave the intake manifold un lacquered as I think that will react with the heat. Unless anyone has lacquered theirs successfully? Sent from my GT-I9300 -
Hi guys, I have got an obd2 mk3 vr and am wanting to paint the air intake manifold and the plastic top cover too. Im wanting to do it in black then the writing in a different colour afterwards, maybe using some enamel paint and a small brush? Do I have to use any special kind of paints on the manifold with the heat in the bay? Can I paint it in place without removing it? Any tips would be amazing, I know someone on here will have done this already so hopefully someone should know. Thanks in advance Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
