He is also breaking his car and all the parts are available. Wheels have recently been refurbished. And all panels on the car are mint.

My VR6 that I've owned for a few years now, currently being supercharged! I have a Rotrex C30-94 and am having a couple of fitting problems! The alternator pulley sits around 5-7mm close to the Charger pulley! Is there a modification that can be done to move them away from eachother?

I sold one a while back on eBay advertised as untested for £100 and it sold in 2 days, bloke was over the moon with it

If this picture works. ..it must look something like the lower spoiler when fitted.

So, many years ago I bought a mk3 16v and had the votex body kit on it. Whilst having some repair work done at Chesterfield Vw over 13 years ago, this spoiler was for sale in the parts department. I bought it as it looked like the old skool zender spoiler.
Unfortunately the wife (ex now thank God) doesn't like it and didn't want it fitted.
So it's sat in my garage all that time. Its got to be pretty bloody rare , never fitted and great quality. Has hidden fixings that line up on the boot and a great bit of kit.
No idea on the price of an original bit of kit. If its priced way out let me know. I just thought it would be appreciated better here than on ebay.
Does 100 pounds sounds daft. Located Sheffield way or interesting to post

The car is sorn and is in the garage to hibernate.
 
It doesn't make sense driving the car in this weather, the underbody is immaculate I have brand new coilovers exhaust bushings etc done so the last thing I want is water or salt touching the body. I never drive it when it's wet with the idea of preserving it. 
 
I think the plans for next year are take it back to stock and somewhat restore it.
 
So a list of things wanting to do will be:
 
1. Remove wrap and get the panels repainted and refreshed which ever one needs it
2. Headlight needs swapping back for originals and I want to paint the inside black 
3. Black badges needs going back to silver 
4. Alloys refurbished in silver but may put on the other vr6 alloys 
5. Remove tints 
6. Put back in the original air box and remove cold air intake 
 
so yeh quite a bit of work to do as well as sourcing parts, headlights and front grill with clean silver badge and fog lights. 
 
So will update as and when I do anything.

So, yesterday I bought a 3dr, non sunroof GTi. The shell is in very good condition but the engine was knackered.
The plan now is to sort the shell then swap the engine & box over from my 5dr.

You can see from the pictures that it's been proper chaved up but with less than 100,000 on the clock it really deserved rescuing & it will cost less to swap the motor on this than do the bodywork on the 5dr.





Yesterday was a productive day though.










All in all it's a really clean shell with just a small bit of patching up to do.

My personal view is;
 
A lot of enthusiasts are anti-auto so they can be hard to sell compared to a manual.
 
Needs air con and leather ideally, although red is a good colour provided it has not faded.
 
Not enough sold and condition varies widely (as expected on a 20 year old car) to fix a firm price.
But I think the range is £1000 for a decent runner to £3500 for a minter. A fixer upper is sub £500.
You see cars advertised for more, but they don't sell. There are a lot of (manual) show cars out there at the moment.
 
Original examples with sensible mods might start appreciating in 4-5 years time (a bit like Corrados are now).
 
Battery drain is normally a defective after market alarm. For an exhaust go for a used performance one that is not too loud.

Hi guys. New to the page. Member of the facebook group. 
Building a 2.8 vr6 to go into my mk3 gti. 
Any advice would be welcome as it's my first vr. Any useful tips for a rebuild, and also would love some advice in regards to shaving my bay and tucking the wires! Thanks! 

was  quite tricky as there is not much room when running 3" system, i used a few 45 degree bends,  its bloody loud as well with only one silencer!

Well bit happened since last post made the exhaust
It's just got a bit of straight 3" tube slash cut with a hacksaw for now as a tail pipe until I find a design I like

I then rang stealth to book it in for its mapping turns out due to the type of ecu and maf my car runs i can't run a bigger maf so will see a max bhp of 350/360 ish but I'm going to do this for now and maybe go obd2/ standalone in the future

They also informed my that with the spacer i had installed I would only see about 280 bhp so yeah some swearing and then a headgasket/ spacer swap later and I'm running again but now with. 8.5.1 compression

So yeah car is now just about ready for mapping been running round in it a bit and ironing any niggles out before I head down to them also made some pipe work for the turbo to intercooler as looked a mess with loads of bits of silicone

Hi mate, welcome to the club! Vw festival is brilliant, can't wait till next year! Shame about the S3 I really like those after owning a 1.8t many years ago, should be a good time to get into MK3 VR's as they seem to be creeping up in value, though it seems there are still some bargains out there! What sort of spec and money are you going to be looking at spending?

Hi all!
Been off the forums for a while now since selling an Ibiza FR TDi few years ago. Going to be looking for a VR6 in the new year as I've been putting it off for far too long now! Previous motors include Audi S3, Bora Derv, Ibiza Derv & now have a BMW 330d.
My best mate had a VR6 after stumbling across it on the web with little MOT left. He already had a MK3 1.4 in white as a run around but saw a matching white one with a 2.8 lump and thought yes! There was a reason for the little MOT though, after a few days of playing around in it the test came, and failed! The emissions machine melted I think & the car nearly bent in half on the ramp for the lack of sills. At this point we thought.....s##t!
The strip down begun and the sills were cut out, salvaged wings and doors where found and a new cat was fitted. Only thing was, it was freezing winter with no garage and little money at this point. I had to work more so his interest died off, and the day came where I went round and the car had vanished sold as a runner but in need of work for the MOT. I haven't seen it since or heard anything of it locally. From this day I've always said I'll have a VR6, purely for the noise from that engine!
Besides the usual rusty silks, arches and boot lids, anything else I need to know about them? The S3 died a death when the front end got demolished by another car, after spending months off the road for an engine rebuild once the head gasket had decided it no longer wanted to do its job! They had issues with water pumps, VR6s the same?
I saw the club stand at this years VW Festival at harewood house, something I've been to for the past 5 years now, but wanting to take my VR when I finally get one!

you can say that again it was so FUN loved it. was a pleasure to meet Pete and all of you at the club stand I had an amazing time and yeah Josh our drag races were awesome!! hopefully we get to do this again soon and keep in touch with all of you. I will upload my drag times later on after I get back from work. (NO SLEEP LAST NIGHT COULDNT STOP THINKING ABOUT THAT JET DRAGSTER, 265MPH IN 5 SECONDS LOL AND THE NOISEE OF THAT THING)

Little update on how the engine is coming along , pretty much finished , have to get my 02m gearbox to a local gearbox builder to have a look and see what it's like and then change to steel shifting forks and recon the box

Hi all,
After much researching and looking around for the last 2 months I finally succumbed and bought myself a Mk4 V6 4motion. In the past I had a "P reg" VR6 which is why I decided I had to get another V6.
I will get some photo's up shortly when i get a chance to get some taken in daylight hours.
Will be good to find out when some local meets are happening in the North to get to meet other V6 owners.

Not mine but one I worked on recently, pretty much wrote off a few days after the conversion! Also a teeny 4 cylinder!
