The yellow does sound like part of the problem. I changed the fuse under the expansion tank and when i turned the key on i could hear the kind of buzzing noise from the pump but not heard it since. I changed the thermostat today im just a little worried that i got the housing seal right as it was a nightmare to keep in place. Got a new cap and when i compared them the old one had well and truley gone. I got rid of my discovery because i was sick of fixing the bloody thing lol.

Ok thanks for advice. What does that do

I spoke to midland vw and he said to change the cap and thermostat as the fan has stopped running. So hopefully that should sort it.

Hi guys really need a bit of help. i took off the expansion tank cap to top it up and water poured out of the overflow (it was still a bit warm). so i tightened the cap back up and drove home. I then went out a hour later and the water light came on so i topped it up and went for a drive got it up to temp. Got home and left it running. Then the coolant started coming out of the over again. I also noticed that the fan didnt run after i switched the engine off. I just wish i hadnt of touched of it lol I only had it a week
