MJ Vr6 reacted to a post in a topic: bad starting
-
ah right ok mate i will check the plugs out then
-
i have also tried a fuel pump relay, no other codes are coming up, from my experiance with cam sensors if they break down it won't start at all off the key only with a bump, getting to the stage of pulling my hair out now lol
-
it sarted no different at all with the cts unplugged, if the plugs were at fault would there not be a misfire?
-
yeah when its warm its a nightmare, i have unplugged the cts and its no different, im running out of ideas now
-
its the coilpack model, i have now tried a genuine vw crank sensor and its no different, i have also been told it could be a connecter block on the back of the ignition switch, is that possible?
-
i reckon the blue temp sensor will be next on the list but it was a pattern sensor and still brings the 00513 code up
-
yeah the crank sensor is what i changed but its no different, if anything its worse
-
Would that not log a fault code mate?

just after some advice really, i have a 95 vr6 golf that don't like to start! it's fine from cold but once its warm and then left for afew minutes it takes ages to start! i scanned it and it came up with 00513 engine speed sensor no signal. so i changed that and still no better, when it eventually starts there's no misfire or anything its just like someone flicks a switch! only other thing i can think of is its running a 4 bar fuel pressure reg so maybe its had a remap that it don't like? any help would be much appreciated. cheers. jack.

Ok then that gives me something to go with, cheers for the help everyone

The car is being totally resprayed at the moment including new arches being welded in so now is the perfect time to adapt, Just need to figure something out with the wheel fitment
-
so if i have my rear arches rolled or have the lip cut a little bit i should be safe mate? cheers

just after some advice really, im looking at a set of bbs reps for my vr but im stuck between two sets one set are 16x8j front and 16x9j rear with a offset of et20 and et25 the second set are 17x7.5j front and 17x8.5j rear with a offset of et35 all round. im useless when it comes to offsets and things so could anyone tell me if either set will fit without ripping my arches off or sitting in too far, the car has a 60mm drop already and sitting on 17"s with no scubbing, any help or advice would be great, cheers.
