Putting my gearbox back into my golf before I sell it, and having trouble getting the correct Bolts for the front engine mount and gear box. Amateur move not labeling them but I though I was splitting the car!! Should this bolt circled have a nut on the back? Think you are right. How much roughly do you think the shell plus engine would be worth? No brakes, no interior, no wheels.. Underside is pretty clean?

Cheers for the reply The engine/gearbox is still in but other than that, that's about it. I know it needs a top end rebuild due to the leaky stem seals.. So thats going to cost a few quid, even if I was to do it myself. It's mainly little bits here and there that all add up, but I'm guessing minimum 600-800 to get it back on the road, and even then I recon it would only be worth around £1500 due to the shoddy paint job by last owner. It's a hard one. If rent wasn't so expensive I would keep it. If I was to strip it, would the engine and box be worth anything? How far sho

Right guys, in a bit of a predicament here. I have touched the car in months and it's in 100's of bits and I can find the time/money/enthusiasm to get it back together. It's cost me a fortune to store a months and I can't see an end in sight Is there any money in breaking it? The end is probably high miles with leaky stem seams. Body work isn't great, fairly rust free with a dent in the front sill that needs a weld. There are a few things I could sell like brakes, coil overs, interior etc but is there much money in it? What are my options for getting rid of it? Guessing

Hi guys. Away to set the gap on my abs sensor to abs ring on my 256mm rear brake set up. Could anyone tell me how close the sensor has to be to the ring to make it affective? Also is there a certain part of the sensor that should be facing the ring. Bigger or small flat? It's been many months since I stripped the original so totally forgot. Much appreciated

Hi guys. I know this has probably been covered 1000's of times, but after searching I can't find much info, or the info I need. My cars a 1992 Obd1 vr6. I plan on doing some pretty basic n/a mods. Cams, manifold, exhaust etc. But how do I go about sorting the software afterwards? Pretty sure these can't be mapped through the old port. So am I best to chip it or? Info appreciated from people that's went down the same route. Cheers

Update time. Been a while. Decided to stop taking bits off and get the car back to a rolling shell until I can find a decent lock up with electricity! Hopefully sooner rather than later Decided to go with an r32 rear wishbone bush instead of poly, as I think it will be better.. Few pics of prep and primer. Done the same with the driveshafts which will be built back up tomorrow with new joints. More to come:)

Would Halfords spray etch Primer do? Also what about Halfords general spray paint. I'll be going black. Tried the hammerite stuff but didn't find it went on evenly or thick enough. Just ran everywhere

Just had some parts shot blasted (wish bones, hubs and a few other bits) What paint do people use for areas like this? Powdercoating isnt an option due to funds and sending bits away:) Thought I'd post it in here, didn't think any other thread fitted!
