  1. I think the only thing different is the top chain covers, might be wrong though if you are doing them too! Also possibly a cam sensor which I missed out. Any idea how much that work costs? Also can it be done off the car as I'm up on Aberdeen so quite far away! cheers
  2. Looking to convert my obd1 dizzy vr6 to obd2 coilpack. Looking for some advice form someone that done this conversion before as after reading many threads, I'm still unsure what's needed. Parts Coil pack Obd2 ecu Ecu harness Engine harness Obd2 MAF housing Obd2 throttle body Obd2 intake manifold Upper timing chain cover Is there anything else I've missed? How difficult a task is this going to be? The reason I'm doing this is for when I turbo or supercharge it. From what I've read and been recommended by C2 and UM obd2 is the best way to go.. I've found a guide online that speaks about conve
  3. Hi guys. Looking to supercharge my vr6 over the next few months and one thing I'm quite stuck on is the management. Where I live there aren't really any 'specialist' in the vw to map it. Has anyone used c2 motorsports before? Or who else? Any recommendations.. It's an obd1.. Cheers:)
  4. Boot turret carpets? Had your number but can't find it now!
  5. Thanks for that mate! Been looking everywhere for an exploded diagram
  6. I like this? They goes, rubber, nut, washer, rubber, washer, golden washer, nut.
  7. Think I understand how it goes now. But left with 4 nuts. Does one sit on top of the first rubber mount to hold the springs on the strut? Above the metal collar that sits in the rubber mount. What about the second one?
  8. cheers for that:) seen a pic on Google so just followed that. Any idea on nuts/washers? I think that the golden washer sits on the inside of the car to hold the strut in but really can't remember!
  9. Hi guys. I took my rear coilovers apart to give them a good clean, but it's been so long I've forgotten how they go back together. Could someone tell me which order these bits go back on.. I think I have it right but I was left with 2 nuts and a washer so a little confused!! Any help appreciated
  10. Third post down..http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?212118-mk2-brake-compensator-adjusting
  11. That's exactly what I needed mate. Much appreciated!! I would definitely have a look at the compensator if you've lowered your car. Unsure how to go about it as I haven't set mine up yet but will look into it and see what I can find out:) thanks again!
  12. Ye think it's only obd1 guys. Forgot to mention that! Cheers though
  13. Hi mate, it's on the actual car itself. The pipes that run along the the passanger side sill area and attach to the brake compensator
  14. That would be perfect mate. Ye it's the copper lines that go into the brake compensator. Dunno if they just go straight from the body of the car into the compensator or follows the bottom of the car.. Pics would clear it up. Cheers:)
  15. You can replace the wishbone bushes with r32 ones.. The rear ones. Unsure about front but possibly. But the wishbone itself will be different I think..
  16. Finally got my rear beam back on with the new bits, but unsure how the brake lines were routed. It's the lines that run along the passanger side of the car in to the bottom two unions on the brake compensator. Do they go straight into the compensator or are they routed around the body? Any help?
  17. Small update. Pretty much for the rear beam ready to go back on. Sorted the abs issue with some fabrication. Will let pics do the talking.. Spaced out the hub so the original abs ring is a snug fit. Got the beam piped up too. Will need the hoses that go to the calipers but that can be done at a later date.. New compensator too. Pipes were a bit of a pain! Also prepped the rear arb for painting All for now, hopefully get fitted this weekend. Quick question, what's people's opinions on grade 8.8 bolts for suspension parts? I bought new bolts for all the mountings but I'm unsure if 8.8 wil
  18. Hi guys. Currently refurbing the rear beam on my golf and found a guy selling some pretty bent carrado lines. Is the routing on the carrado vr6 the same as the Mk3 vr6? As long as it's same length it shouldn't be and issue. Thanks
  19. Looking for the bracket that holds the brake lines on the rear beam.. Have one but lost the other. Pic here...
  20. Got everything mocked up but struggling to see where the abs sensor will go. I found a thread online that had a Diy for it but the only pics I couldn't see are the ones explaining where the sensor goes!! Anyone got ideas? Was considering notching the hub to make the sensor fit but really unsure.. Any input?
  21. Thought I'd get a small update. Painted the rear beam with some hammerite spray. Which wasn't the best so might recoat with some better paint. Also finally rebuilt and painted the rear calipers in blue. Ordered some polybushes for the rear beam which should be fitted this week. And also ordered a rear Arb which will hopefully be here by the weekend.. Few pics:) Hopefully get a new brake proportioning valve ordered soon so I can get the beam fully build and back on:)
