  2. Trix, you build an awesome car fella! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Any Mayonnaise in the oil filler cap? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi, I bought a salsa green colour concept with vr transplant that had the same prob. I walked away and several days later the seller said the rubber seal inside expansion cap was perished and all was fine with the car after it was replaced. I didn't trust him as I thought it was hg. I'm interested to hear what others have to say on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm not being funny, but what has a blown up washing up glove got to do with vr6? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Nice one iceman, your bank balance has took a pasting by the looks of things then. Good work, nice to see your progress. So this must be the beastie that's going to the rr day at lakeside then. You've booked me in to roll that day too, perhaps we might be able to make a good car out of the pair come end of the rolling session. :-) If you're swapping the seats out, then I'd be highly interested in the rear seat base as mines got a fag burn in. Keep the photos coming, can't beat a good build thread. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Nice, I like the oak green mk2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yeah? I didn't tell you I'm Hispanic and I like low riders! My build thread title. Mk3 vr6 with a Latino twist! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Nice! One of the most important bits of kit! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Here's a couple of pics of the new wheels on the car. Man, it looks like it's on hydraulics!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. That's Interesting. Yeah I bet it sounds sweet. Mines going on rollers at amd on May 11th. It's standard except for magnex cat back. I'd like to give it a good service before going on the rollers, new plugs and leads a must! Perhaps I ought to try those poly bush too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Nice one khare, I bet it'll drive nice with the bushes and new suspension. What's the general consensus of opinion on these cda filters then? I understand the concept well enough but noticed someone slating the cda as it was restrictive (on tt Audi) I expect it sounds nice but do you actually get any performance gains. Can you feel the difference? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yep, get it done, the more I look at mine in this sunshine, the more I'm thinking about having a blow over. I'm booking the mrs up a spa weekend too. Now, If I Could time it just right??!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I recently had crank sensor changed on mine. That's not clever when that starts poncing about. Breaking down in traffic multiple times is not my idea of fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Bloody hell Pete, you'll be getting yourself a teas made next...... Yes, I am jealous! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I've think I've sussed it. The car isn't lowered yet and looks like it's on stilts. Once it's got its suspension on, it should make it look loads better, I hope! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 7.5 width et25 with 195/45/16, so there's a bit of stretch on tyres. I've seen your pics and yes, yours look alright to me too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Hi fellas, I collected and fitted my new 2nd hand lenso bbs reps today and I think I way have cocked up on the offset. They're 16" with et25 which is within the parameters for the vr. The trouble is the rears look perfect in the arch and the front pokes out a bit too much, I wouldn't mind if it was the other way round but to me it looks slightly poo. I'll post some pics when it's daylight. What do you guys reckon? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I appreciate what you're saying lukey. I think it's one of those hurdles you shit yourself about jumping but once you've jumped and you're on the other side it'd make you wonder what all the fuss was about in the first place. I fully expect to repaint mine at some stage, just not quite yet. It would be one of those OCD things that her indoors will bollock me for big time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thinning of the oil is not good, you are right in saying top end looks dry. I've just googled it and general consensus shows major engine failure if problem is not rectified. I'd guess rings would wear before the pump and that overfuelling must be dealt with as priority. The overfuelling will play havoc with the ignition timing via the various sensors, but these sensors doing their job shouldn't knock your engine out too quickly. Get that recirc sorted and it'll be happy days! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Flipping ell! I Thought this was screen shots from one of those hoarders programmes first time I looked!!!! What a transformation! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Mmmm, not sure on this one. At least you know why, so should be easily remedied. Best plan is, fix the problem and change the oil I reckon as the petrol is Possibly making the oil thin? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I'm in the same boat as you Saunders, I've not been hit but I ask myself is it worth spending the money on a lower half respray? I like my vr a great deal, but £1500 is a fair lump of money to shell out on a car which is deteriorating elsewhere (chassis etc). I'd try and source a door your colour for now and see what the next mot brings. That's what I'll be doing anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
