  1. Excellent thread and great to see your progress. If only I had the time for my vr. Keep the photos coming! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That's lucky with the wheels then, they certainly look good and I really like the staggered thing. Watch out for torque steer with that diddy steering wheel once you get that vr6 fitted! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Blimey, is that a leather bound shirt button you used for the steering wheel. That looks a really clean motor, I'd like that look for my car, what size wheels are they Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That looks a tidy motor Maurice. I really like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Cheers marneus, I'm looking forward to a bit of tarting up when time allows and some more polishing etc. I've Got anothergrille to put on too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi fellas, how much of a job is changing the front and rear bumpers on my vr golf? The originals are in poor order and I picked some up off the bay. Am I likely to encounter rusted fixings that won't budge etc.
  7. Hahahahaha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The monk has hit the nail on the head. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I can recommend schilwards German car specialist at great Leigh's near Chelmsford, Essex. I use them for all 4 of our vehicles servicing, mots and repairs. Never had a problem with them and as they're only a small concern, it is a bit more of a personal service. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Sounds good. This is a good one too, but not vehicle related. My mum calls me to collect a three piece sweet and on a separate occasion a washing machine. "Yes" I say, "no problem both times. Here's the lesson to be learnt. Always ask after saying yes, have the items been paid for, or else like me you'll fund the fuel for The 100 miles to collect and deposit plus you'll actually buy the items for her too!!! Left me best part of £200 down. Good old family eh! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Looking good marneus. I'll get some pics of my old girl on here soon if I ever get a moment to myself! I've been gathering parts to give her a good spruce up. New suspension going on this week at the local German specialist. Keep posting pics of your progress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Nice, they'll look pukka. I just bought a set of 17 inch team dynamics pro race 1.2 in gold for my emerald green vr. Not sure I particularly like them yet though! Soon see once fitted I suppose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That's an impressive build you've got going there, well done so far. You had a proper touch with your goodies package too! Wish I had the time and skills to give my golf the tlc it deserves. Keep the photos coming please, it's good to see the car taking shape. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm sure you'll be happy with the results. Wax on, wax off! Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Oh, Victoria sponge with rr on the side. I'd have turned up if you'd have just said cake day!!! it'll be the furthest I've travelled to participate in a charity cake fest, although I have made stranger journeys. I'd better make sure I'm loaded with nuggets on the day and beware, I'm not leaving till I'm sick! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yep, I agree me meguires is expensive, I didn't know you got the sandpaper and a mop with the package. I was too scared to sand my headlights so I just used a cloth and kept on polishing till I could tell the difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. How do you communicate pooping yourself noises on tapatalk? Lol. I didn't know you could just watch! Thanks iceman Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yes please, could you put my name down. I'll see if I can get the old girl a full service before the day and I'll stick it in my diary. It'll be interesting to see how healthy the car is. They'll probably just fall about laughing and tell me how many new parts it needs! Look forward to it. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hi, I'm Essex based and wouldn't mind seeing how much donkey power the old girl has got. So, do i have to book or what? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi Jamie, for plastic lights you can get a plastic polish called headlight cleaner or similar name that is pretty darn good. I know meguiars have a product available in halfrauds. You can use a cloth and plenty of elbow grease or a mop on a drill. You could try the bay also, that's where I got mine from and it did wonders for my passat headlights, almost bought them back to new, it took hours though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I use night breakers in all my vehicles. I wouldn't buy any other bulb.
  22. Cool: having a good blast round in your vr6 Uncool: catching up police car whilst 25mph above national limit (dual carriageway)
