  1. Hi guys Recycling an old megasquirt I built for a 1.8t I have converted it to a 3 spark unit and look to have all the settings for the vr in there. Starting this thread to put up information and maybe get some input from you guys. To be continued!!
  2. As above really guys anyone have a spare loom from The ecu to the round engine plug? I m fitting standalone megasquirt but would like to be able to swap between stock and megasquirt by the plugs so I need the bit of loom from the engine plug. Ideally with ecu plug as well.
  3. I'd say flipping it around is the way forwards. Just remember to switch the lines around!
  4. This topic interests me a lot! My last few evenings have been spent looking at remaps, standalone, getting my old Megasquirt 2 out and changing it for 6 coil wasted spark used to have it running on my 1.8T conversion all self mapped. I'm going to need newer maps for my turbo'd 2.9 VR6 OBD1. I have found quite a lot of information on it mostly from Broke 4 Speed there are some XDF definitions for TunerPro. From what I can see I can either burn chips and log using vag com then reburn the chip etc. By far the best setup is the Ostrich 2.0 from Moates.net which replaces the EEPROM in the ECU wit
  5. Service parts ordered, Oil flush, filters, new T piece, new pressure sender, Coolant flush, G13 and some sparky plugs and a new V-Band clamp for the exhaust! Then attack with pressure washers and my entire detailing collection! It's a 1 day a week project so it's a little slow going but gives me time in between to get my parts together

  7. My T4 has a side exit but not sure on a Golf! I want to keep the 16v Jetex backbox as it fits the gap well looks OEM and has a nice tone! it's a 2" pipe though so not really big enough for a VR but with a turbo too it's tiny! think Jetex, a grinder and a mig will become my friend for a bit!
  8. Ordering and hunting down bits and pieces to make a start this weekend. Damn intercooler pipework is the most expensive bit so far! I remember why I made it out of odds and ends to test it now!! Also need to figure out a way of getting a 3" exhaust over my rear axle.
  9. Does anybody have experience with the kits for sale on Ebay says they are for vento cup seems to be an ok kit but pictures on ebay and spanners in the cold are different!!
  10. Hi All, Here is my very abused but much loved Mk2 Golf. It had a nice tidy 2.9 VR6 installed and went round Europe in her. Came back and started playing with turbos. Got her to a running but untidy state and then Parked her up for around 2 years. So she is in a sorry looking state currently Now the task is to tidy up the old girl and get her back on the road so this is the thread of that challenge! Here she is in her unrefined and abused state. The fun maker. More to come as I progress with it Monza
