  1. yes it was missing the jumper cable between E2 and D8, all working now. Though the idling is not steady, fluctuating a bit.
  2. We have just purchased a 1990 Mk2 VR6 conversion, just passed MOT with no advisories (before we purchased it) however the instrument cluster is not working! No warning lights working, no rev counter, not speedo, no fuel or temp gauge, however miles show but not going up. Any thoughts please? Thanks Ian
  3. hmmm...it seems very loose a "max power" filter not loose. So looking at this the Pcv vavle has split and someone has stuck this filter on one end of it, is this normal? Or should I pick up a replacement valve and reconnect it all properly?
  4. I have recently purchased a VR6, it is now back on the road, however looking at the engine I have found this breather/filter (K& N), what is it for? Also the car has had a K & N induction kit fitted, I am concerned about the build up of heat on the exposed cone, would the standard air box be better, or would directing a source of cold air to the K & N cone be better? Thanks
  5. Hi, sorry I re-started this thread under transmission, ^ Yes it was the inner joint that was knackered, thanks
  6. sorted! inner CV joint had gone, replaced and working. Thanks for support and help
  7. Ok so just checked agaon and no cant select gear without clutch!
  8. Ok...a bit more info..the passenger side driveshaft is rotating, drivers side isnt??? So spin the wheels and the driveshaft rotates, select gear and try to pull off and drivers driveshaft turns but doesnt turn the wheel.. The driveshaft is making a terrible clonking noise. Seems like this is a broken driveshaft? thanks
  9. That is what I thought, will have to source a new gearbox, thanks
  10. So driving home about 30 mins ago, there was a clonking sound from front left of car (felt like the suspension), then I lost drive to wheels, engine is running fine and smooth, whilst engin running gear shifter can move in and out of gears (no clutch needed)... So I have ruled out clutch as I feel I wouldnt be able to get into gear, so then I though maybe drive shaft or gearbox? Any help advice appreciated please thanks
