Petrol consumption... oh my god thw petrol consumption is horrendous. But then again. You cant have an amazong beast of an engine like that which does 55 mpgs. Ill take the hit of petrol, and mine is my daily runner. I got the rust setting in in areas too. Need front ds wine replaced, front jacking point are shot. Speaking of jacking points.... Anyone know how much a garage would charge down cornwall way if I bought the new jacking points. They would just have to re weld in??

How long did it take you to find your pride and joy?
isobarboy replied to Toopay_MkIII_GTI's topic in General Chat
Took me 3 or 4 months. Travelled a 300 mikes round trip. Then had to sorts lots out. A bigger bargain just a bit more to fix though the engine side is sound *touch wood* . Maybe find one that ticks 8 of ten boxs and enjoy doing er up? -

1. Sunroof drain holes leaking into car 2. Scoop under windshield blocked and allowing water in. 3. Slight matrix leak ( though it does steam up as mentioned) 4. Rubber bungs are corroding. Allowing moisture in. 5. Door film within door has become comprimised allowing water in through the rubber seals, passing through the door and out into your car. 6. Poorly bonded windshield (original one still in?) 7. Poor rubber around door seals
