    The plastic arch trim around certain golf's, some people say they help rust facilitate as they hold moisture against the arch and some say they stop it. Which answer is right? And can these be fitted to a vr6 originally without these? Cheers all

    Water leak

    1. Sunroof drain holes leaking into car 2. Scoop under windshield blocked and allowing water in. 3. Slight matrix leak ( though it does steam up as mentioned) 4. Rubber bungs are corroding. Allowing moisture in. 5. Door film within door has become comprimised allowing water in through the rubber seals, passing through the door and out into your car. 6. Poorly bonded windshield (original one still in?) 7. Poor rubber around door seals Good luck!

    I found this piece of hardware on ebay. Is this good little basic machine or a con. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=221040985066&alt=web Sounds promising and not very expnsive, has to be a catch right

    If I didnt have air con It would be a blast. . . I hope to save on labour charges seeminf as ive already done hakf the work. I will ask for a quote on just replacing the matrix and pipes then ill refit the dash, and a quote for completing the job lol.

    First off..... I hate heater matrixs, Secondly..... I hate air con more And thirdly.... I hate vw for making what should be a simple thing, a near on impossible task that can make me see red. Why would they design a vehicle so badly underneath that to change a heater matrix on an air con model literally means removing your whole air con system, knee bars the lot. I am giving it to a garage to do the rest before I koose it with it. Right now I hate my vr6. Cant wait to spend another £200 in labour charges

    Rifht ive found that elusive nut..... are VW taking ze piss! Its literally been buried by the air con. Wish i didnt have air con now lol. Need a 5 year old who had 3 ekbow joints and abnornally long arms to get to it. Im genuinly stumoed how to get that offf?? Suggestions would be a god send 0:) Kind regards all

    The guide says remove 5 nuts altogether under the hood. I for the life of it cannot see this nut near the abs pump. Is It hidden under the air con unit? As I pulled the life outa the unit in the car and it definateky seems stuck at one point in the same area as this elusive nut?? Thanks

    My Gem, only had 3 months. £800 114000 miles, since then had a new windshield, new maf, refurbed throttle body, sealed the rubber bungs under the car, new rear light seals, de rusted and resprayed areas (not full body) , new glovebox, though today the matrix blew, nice 110°C water on your ankle while parking. Ouch!

    Well its a snake. Tried a good ol fashioned google hunt? Python cams Rattle cams Snake camshafts Etc etc. Or a snake car performance brand?

    A dedicated shop? A members photo gallery site. Buy and sell vr6 parts. Make a small comission on sales like ebay. Only 1% kinda thing.

    Mine had a hairline crack in the lid handle bit, sorayed water, just bought a new one. I have noticed that tthe VR6 lid isnt very tight fit. Mines a £4 ebay one and working a treat.

    Ive got the dash out and steeringwheel off etc. But I now cannot acces the housing unit to remove my faulty matrix. Im stuffed as I dunno where to go from here and really dont wsnt to take it to a garage ( Someone please help ne on what I should do from here to get the housing out so I can see the internals to fix my leak. Thank you!! this one is inside as far I can see

    Airbags are back in. Just unscrewed them from the dashboard and unpkugged for a dashboard removal so I presume thats triggered them. Where do I go for a diagnostic? And how much? As ive seen the equipment go for thousands on ebay and I dont have that kinda cash lying8ng around. Lol
