    So I'm quite sure that a need an alternator do to the fact that I put a new battery on yesterday and now this morning i was driving and my guages quite then the car just shut off. Is it possible to change the altornator with out going through the bottom or taking the bumper off, and is it ok to use a toughone 90 amp alternator, cause I'm not really feeling the 300 dollar thing with the 120 amp bosh alternator?

    yes my fans work i have 2 10in after market fans that are set to run constantly, i have replaced the thermostat twice, ive replaced thermostat housing , leaking hoses, coolant temp valve, and it is still getting warm put yes when I turn my heat on the temp will go down and if you just keep it on then it doesn't get hot at all.

    So my 98 Jetta glx has recently started doing this thing where the rpms do not drop to 800 when you push in the clutch like it is supposed to. The rpm will eventually go down if you are stop long enough but if not then you can just let off the clutch and the car will go because the rpms are still up. I was told this was because of a vaccum leak but i would like to hear other wise first.

    My Jetta is getting hot but only if I do not have the heater on. Does anyone have any information on why this might be happening. I replaced the coolant temp sensor but it didn't seem to fix the problem.

    does anyone know if using the expansion tank for the 4cylinders causes the vr6 to get hot?
