  2. Aye, would be up for a NE mini meet at some point. Was going to try to get to the last Metrcentre centre meet, weather/work depending like.
  3. Hehe. Actually......its all fixed mate, eventually (for now anyway..). Been getting it out and about the last couple of weeks, trying to get some use before the shoitey weather comes. Dropped it at MB Motprsport tonight for some fab work on the exhaust. It bangs like a crack whore on the rear axle so needfs a bit fettling and some new hangers etc. PS- So wheres me stickers then fellas?
  4. Punto porn! Beautiful MK2 getting foamed and a run out tomorrow. Meeting a mate with his seriously nice tuned and restored Renault 5 Turbo, can see an 80s style duel taking place! Then on the lash...
  5. Took the MK2 out and kicked its head in. Revving sweet and shifting along nicely. Looks like its finally sorted. Next job, get some fab work done on the exhaust to stop it knocking, driving me fookin nuts!
  6. What do used Shrick manifolds change hands for? Started chewing over head work and cams (you know, while its off anyway ) but its plenty quick in a MK2 and I could see this becoming a money pit without some restraint.
  7. Fingers crossed I might be sorted. Found a set from a German outfit http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/VR6+dichtung+Schaltsaugrohr+SCHRICK.htm They have been shipped so hope there are the correct ones when they arrive. Was tempted to pull the manifold off, sell it on, and replace with OEM but apparently these SHRICK units make big difference and didn't want to sacrifice any grunt. Had 2.8 and 2.9 VRS years ago but this one does seem to rev and howl like nowt else. (lthough the intake and custom decat probably help!
  8. That's good to know. I only had it checked out because it was running rough, or not at all, when it was hot (stuck in traffic etc) which is a recent problem suggesting its not been like this for long. Sounding like it could be just the gasket then. Thanks for the info btw.
  9. Assuming the worst, ie head has distorted, and comparing costs of repair versus swapping the lump. Suppose its a fair point that another lump could hide its own troubles... How much to VR lumps change hands for? Assuming its decent with known history and maybe had chains done. cheers
  10. As title, found out today that the head gasket has gone on my OBD1 VR, if the head is knackered and its not just a new gasket (we think its maybe just gone recently) are we best off scrapping the engine? If so, how much do second hand engines change hands for? Cheers Paul
  11. Hello there, new to the site guys and got a question already. I have an OBD1 fitted in the nose of a MK2 which looks to have blown its head gasket. The SHRICK inlet is apparently sucking air where it shouldnt and the gasket has gone. Where can I get a gasket set for the SHRICK manilfold? Thanks Paul
