  1. Hi guys I need some help with the car. I got it to a stage where I was able to start the car over the weekend at first it would not start after trying for about an hour and it turned out to be a faulty MAF as when I unplugged it it started up. Now my issue is I turn the heaters on full and only get out cold air and after 5 minutes of having the heaters on the blower fuse blows. Any ideas what could be the cause of this? There is definitely not an air lock as all the coolant pipes are getting hot. Also when I first had it running the coolant level dropped when the thermostats opened up and I to

  4. So guys in the next few days I need to fill up the coolant system. I've got a 5litre bottle of red anti freeze so how much of it do I use? Also what's the procedure do I need to start the engine and then pour it in or pour some in and then start the engine? Any help with this would be much appreciated.
  5. Easier than I thought yes but also cost more than I thought lol. All these little fittings here and there all add up plus all the running around I've done.
  6. Got all my boost pipes finished tonight. I was originally going to get the pipes painted the same colour as the car but I actually like the look of it as it is with the silver.
  7. I'm definitely going to relocate the battery as there is no room for it in the bay when the air filter is on. I was looking at relocating the wiper fluid bottle but could not find one small enough to put under the scuttle panel which is where I would have liked to put it.
  8. Cheers guys il sort that out tomorrow. One thing I don't like is as all the bits are being put back on it's starting to look messier and messier. Maybe one day il think about shaving the bay and relocating stuff.
  9. Cheers Russ. Spent 12 hrs on the car today but felt like I got hardly anything done! Doing up the downpipe bolts were a pain in the backside took me an hour just to do them. All the coolant hoses are fitted and i have started fitting the Greddy boost controller. Hopefully tomorrow the rest of my boost pipes and bits arrive then I can get them fitted tomorrow night.
  10. Need some more help guys. Can a dump valve be fitted to the boost pipe going into the air intake manifold or does it need to go on the other side on the pipe from the intercooler to the turbo? Thanks
  11. No need for the pic now Russ I did as you said turned it 90degrees clockwise and it has solved the issue. Thanks for the help.
  12. It looks like a locating pin for the one of the chain guide rails. But I could be wrong.
  13. Cheers mate. It's been a awesome experience for me so far. Just finished working on it for tonight. I did 6 hours on it, no stopping and skipped dinner lol. Here's how I left her for tonight. I started getting some of the coolant hoses on. Boost pipes from the throttle body to the intercooler are done. Extended the brake servo pipe to the short runner.

  16. I had a look at my mates vr6 earlier and the earth is on the bolt off the gearbox as jimjon said earlier.
  17. Thanks I will have a look later. The stuff I bought was the PTFE stuff with 8mm bore off torques.co.uk but I didn't use it. I wasn't 100% with the fitting of the fuel pressure regulator so I cut up the old lines for now and if it all works as its supposed to then I will run the new ptfe lines.
  18. Need some help guys can anyone have a look at their car and tell me where this cable connects to. Its coming off the negative battery terminal there is a cable already attached which is connected to the chassis then there is this cable which is quite long but I can't seem to find where it is supposed to go.
  19. Luckily for me I got a used one with my turbo and manifold so I didn't have that hassle. Even this one is very tight trying to get it in to place.
  20. The bracket mounting position and the style of the bracket on the short air intake is a bit of a bad design as it makes the throttle cable sit to high up and to far away from the throttle body which then keeps the throttle body open slightly. I used the same bracket and extended it and bolted it down elsewhere as in the picture.
