I've been doing a lot of reading in to the vr6 what to do and what can be done. But I was wondering is it worth remapping an obd1 vr My vr6 b4 Passat has a 2.9 air intake and throttle body. It will also have a stainless exhaust cat back (until I fit a de-cat later) and an induction kit I've been told I should see gains of 14-19bhp from and remap but is it worth the expence of them. (I actually didnt think it could be mapped) Any feed back would be great. Negative or positive. Thanks guys

I pick this up on Monday night. After sorting out recovery. Ordered a few bits. Nowt major. Got annoyed at the fact my old b4 didn't have cup holders. So I've found a mk3 us cup holders which fit in the centre console. Probably going to need modding to fit on the b4 passat one but shouldn't be owt difficult. Also trying to get a mk3 golf highline handbrake surround as its higher than the passat. Hoping it will fit without too much hassle. Need an arm rest lol. I can't wait now to pick it up and get it on the road.

Vw did two models exclusive which has everything and GL This one is the GL and those lights where an option which the first owner didn't tick the box. It has electric windows all round and electric sunroof. Central locking (which I have a lot to fit which will be remote operated) Power steer etc. I will be looking for the vr lights though. This vr passat will be my second b4 estate This red one being the current one I have but breaking it due to the engine being killed.

Just picked up all the service bit 10L quantum 10w40 semi synthetic oil. Oil cartridge etc I found out that it's the AAA engine code Which at the moment means nowt to me lol Just got to get the cam sensor once I have the car cos I need to know the part number to get the right one. Can't wait to get it now. It's doing my head in knowing it's mine and having to wait haha

Yeah there 15" rims and oem I think they came only on the passat vr exclusive as I've only ever seen them on them in the past.

My mistake there 8 spoke. They came on the b4 vr exclusive Not the best looking rims but the're better than the ones which are on lol

The bbs rims I've been offered are 11 spoke ones I believe

I don't know yet. I've been offered some passat vr bbs standard rims which I might get to start with and then use as winter rims. But I'm just going to carry on looking to see what's about Going to get one piece rims I'm not a fan of splits.

Been told to start a build thread so here goes ! Just been to view a B4 VR6 estate took a battery with me and it fired up first time Had a good look round it and ended up putting a deposit down on it. So will pick it up next week. I say project as it needs a heater matrix fitting. The previous owner has it but hasn't fitted it yet It's a 2.8 vr6 with a 2.9 throttle body and air intake. Blue silicone hoses New radiator All new sensor bar one Comes with a stainless exhaust yet to be fitted And only 110k miles I was surprised to how quite these are in standard form So I will have to c

Vw fest is the one at Leeds My car will be ready by the end of the month I hope It's just the rims that may not be on (except the ones it has now) as too much choice and I'm not sure what direction I'm going to go down.

Sound cheers Plan are get it on the road first and through the mot. Got coilovers off my old car to go on. Then looking at some rims probably 17" Then going to make it mint on the out side. I'm thinking of going to justdubsuk this year and vw fest just on the Sunday. Once I have the car I had planned on doing a build thread. And this site has been really help with the info on the vr6. And the previous owner said to get a membership paid for the extra stuff. So I will probably do so at some point.

Hay ladie and gents Been lurking on here for about three weeks researching the engine as I'm new to vr6's with this car being my first one. I've had a fair few vw's Hopefully pick it up next week and it's a bit ofa project to start start with. But already have a few mods tI change over. First being my coilovers. Looking forward to taking Part in club affairs is shows etc I'm based in West Yorkshire.
