hi guys ,i'm new so be gentle with me ,i got a vr6 0bd2 for a conversion ,i stripped it to check it out (was told it was a sweet sounding engine that had covered about 80k, anyway i took it to my local engine shop and he said it needs a re bore,there is a slight ridge at the top of the bores ,he measured it (pistons still in ) said there's 10 thow of wear ,my mate spare engine looks the same ,is this common ?just wondering if its safe to hone & fit new rings ,the engine wont be getting a hard life ,its going in my caddy . cheers for any help
