  1. Thinking back I should have done the same (never did though, what a plick ? ) Been stocking up on other useful parts since though that are getting scarce on the ground..
  2. You're probably right there as it happens, just been thinking back now when I asked if still available at VW and how much..? Thought it was around 6/8 months ago? Naaa, thinking back now it was more like going on for 2 years ago How time flies when you're having fun? Or more over how time flies when you're spending plenty monies on VR's. Oooooooooosh......
  3. You can still get them from VW themselfs also at around £135 each, albeit they have to order them in from Germany as there's no UK stock We all now own old cars and sadly and its a bit like B&Q, when its gone its gone. VW's stock they have is now limited sadly, so if you want genuine? Buy now as they won't be making any more parts..
  4. Mines (5 door) cost me a fortune over the years since I've owned it, my own fault really as I keep adding things to it just to get it the way I want it to look and drive/handle etc. Cost wise? How longs a piece of string really? It's just keeping on top of the bodywork side making sure all is protected on top and underneath from the weather and then just drive and enjoy, ooh and just the obvious regular oil changes etc. You might have the odd brake pipe, wheel bearing, suspension bush to replace over time, but that said and done there shouldn't be any reason why they shouldn't then last a
  5. We own (Wife and I) two VR's, a 3 Door Mulberry Highline and a 5 Door Magic Black Highline and love both cars equally. If you can afford too keep both? Then I say keep them both for sure... Ps; I'm 44 and the Wife's a few years younger than me (Not giving her age away as she'd probably thump me) and like I say we love them. They may be getting on a bit now, but they're still a pleasure to own and drive without a doubt..
  6. You not wrong they are. Worth every penny spent on um though for sure Glad to hear your's is out of hibernation, not that I suppose you'll be using it much not with the way the weather is a the mo.... Still waiting for mine too comeback, be worth the wait though as its been alooooooong time coming.
  7. You may well have more luck than me on the air-ride side is all i'll say. After all the monies I've spent on my VR over the last couple of years all I'm likely to get is Pink Papers and albeit I may just about (but probably not) be able to fund an air-ride kit...? Me don't wanna stump up for a Divorce.... That said though I'll make do with ordering some Alloy Oil/Water caps (jcaps) from the US to go along with the very nice Alloy fuel line support brackets (gruvenparts) that arrived last week.. Hoooyaa...
  8. What about air-ride, then you can go as low as you want.. Me would like air-ride on mine, but wife says me not allowed...
  9. Indeed. Now there may well be a lot of knowledgeable people on here (more so than me) but my basic advice would be ring the specialist's in their field if you really want definitive answers? When I First considered Forced Induction I rang Vince at Stealth Racing 01926 812259 (Turbo charging) and Dan at TRD (Supercharging) and both where happy to talk to me and give their (actual) honest opinions and advice, which I thought was good of them considering that I wasn't going to use either company.. Worth a phone call. Then atleast you know which way you want to go and what's involved.....
  10. Low cost and reliable don't got together. If you want it reliable its gonna cost. I'm not saying its going to get expensive, but when you start you can't stop. You may want to do this or that, but then down the line you want to change things...? I like your idea with the Caddy, but if you don't want massive silly BHP? Then consider a Supercharger instead (I would say that mind as mine is) Mine's running 275bhp and Pete's as stated above is near to 300bhp. As Pete says you're going to need spacer plate/head bolts at a minimum. What ever you decide you've got to get it right, for if you don't a
  11. For sale, full set of Colour Concept door cards for a MK3 Golf (5 door) Door cards are in good/very good condition and certainly for age (20 years old?) one or two minor marks but nothing drastic. Long story short I bought them around 18 months ago with the intentions of fitting them in my VR just to be a bit different. This however never happened and other than cleaning them they have sat ever since in the front room (in the way according to the wife ) So there you are. £55 ono. Collection (Manchester) only on these though please due to size/weight etc. Que
  12. Me likey those calipers alot....
  13. Ignore rusty battery tray as soon to be replaced with White powder coated one. And before anyone says anything about the battery? Its been replaced as well....
  14. Thanks very much. I can't take the credit for this one though as its not mine... Its the wife's.
  15. You around tomorrow then? I'll bob over and leave you a deposit on these.
  16. No not the fogs, I mean the side lights as it were for the front bumper, orange running lights at the side. Or just the covers will do if you have them.
  17. Don't suppose you have the running lights for the front bumper as well do you? Or even just the covers? I know its a big ask.. Cheers.
  18. Have them on my VR, been on for around 2 years now. Build quality is good especially at the price, and ride wise is actually very good so no complaints at all, rides nice on the road (if you can call what we drive on roads?) not harsh at all. Hope it helps..
  19. Looks well, we own a 1980 e21 323i along with 2 VR's . So thumbs up 2 both...
