    Go for panel filter if you want to retain the oem look, or go for a bmc if you want an aftermarket, neither overpowered a non res milltek on a v6 4motion

    I think the pipes are too short on the back box, the bora needs extended ones. And the r32 cats are different to the 4mos so need a longer/shorter pipe there, can't remember which.

    I've not long replaced all the brakes and serviced the haldex last year so can't see it needing them, might start with the brake switch, and work my way down towards the more expensive stuff! PITA as I've had no issues with it!

    Threw up the esp light after going over like 10mph, been told it could also be the brake switch? Fault codes were: 01324, 00812, 01312. I'll pull the fuse tomorrow and see what happens!

    For anyone interested 99% sure it's the Haldex controller, going to look out for one on fleaBay, or if anyone is breaking an r32, s3 (anything with a 1st generation haldex) I'd be happy to buy one!

    I think the earlier AUE engines don't need their chains changing, the BDE ones (post 2001) need changing at 100K. Haldex 4wd should be serviced every 20k, with filter at 40K. Radiator fans have a fault where the smaller one doesn't constantly spin, easy fix with a resistor. Bora and golf are pretty much the same running gear and engine wise, except things like the exhaust is longer... Plus all the usual MK4 things, rust etc.

    Hi, A while back the golf used to stutter like misfiring, so changed the plugs, leads and coil pack and was all good. Recently when I'm 6th gear at about 65mph, I put my foot down and the same again, slight stutter and yellow ESP warning light flashes on the dash! Really weird as only does it in 6th! Not had chance to scan with vagcom but any ideas? Liam.

    Hello everyone, New to the forum, had my MK4 V6 4motion for over a year now and thought I'd join, 5th Golf but 1st VR6, apart from a few services and maintenance parts been trouble free! Hope to see and speak to some of you in the future! Liam.
