    When im driving. No unusual noises on cold or hot starts, more whining in first gear. 2nd not that noticeable. But the knocking and the other noises are when driving, turning..pretty much does it all the time apart from at speed ie motorway etc

    Hi all. Picked up my new vr6 highline yesterday. All is well but i noticed a not so good noise from the front..knocking/rubbing/grinding...not just a knock but abit of a grind noise aswel. Also seems to have a little bit of gearbox whine in first? Runs and drives fine...been told the top mount rubbers have been changed and the strut rubbers..also the car had mot in june and the garage would of seen this if it was happening then right? Thinking maybe driveshaft? Can driveshafts cause whining? Im going to the garage later today for them to have a look and to fit the new blue coolant sensor that

    Is yours supercharged cabbs? Wouldnt mind a passenger ride if it is to make my mind up what to do. Yeah il have a look at dates of the events etc and see if its good for me

    Not sure how much il have to spend, probz around 2k after ive sold my scooby and put 3-4k towards the misses having a new car...i had to compromise [emoji23] what if cams were installed along with a charger? And decent throttle boddies? 8k drive in drive out is alot [emoji26] what will be needed for turbo install? A good turbo for 400? Were abouts are you pete? Would love a passenger ride to see what its like. Also the 3.68 final drive is that a different gearbox?

    How much can these engine internals take before changing stuff? I can imagine a turbo setup would be cheaper?

    Ye i had a quick browse through his thread and the changes hes done to it are remarkable! So the shrick is a different inlet manifold? Or the same manifold with a mod? I think i need to go in s supercharged one. I thought the vr pulled ok when he took me 9for a test drive yesterday, didnt blow me away, thats probably because id just got out my scooby and got in the vr..but it did sound nice and drive well..iv always had a soft spot for the vr6....oh and another thing....were can i get some crystal lights from?     Im guessing by forced induction you mean turbod? Its all different to me this vag stuff, but i did have leon cupra r running 370bhp running a gt3071r on low boost. Whats shrick? Or is that the name of the cams? And would that be a noticable gain? The scooby is 340bhp but i was going to get rid of it if i liked the vr and with the money off the scoob, hopefully around 6k i was planning on doing some some engine work to it

    The car in question has got an R induction on it..how loud are the bmc kits? I can imagine the standard drilled box would be less noisy. Dont get me wrong i like tge noise from the front but i like to hear the exhaust note aswel [emoji5]

    How much bhp will i be looking at if i just did cams and tb? Id do the billet pulleys if they dont cause problems and a lightened flywheel...then if im not happy il superchrge ontop of all that...dont know were my money is coming from [emoji23]

    Well whats a good charger? Im new to all this stuff as like i said iv always had jap cars or cars thats turbod. Its not really a daily as such, just that i want a car that i can just get in and drive when i go and pick the little lad up or when i go training as i have a work van anyway. So the list would be Charger (not sure which one) Fuel pump Injectors Uprated brakes Map? Maybe some cams if i have monies left

    As above. I find that an aftermarket cone induction overpowers the grunt of the exhaust if you no what i mean? Hence why was thinking of the standard filter with an uprated panel filter to keep the noise down so i can hear the beloved vr6 grunt from the rear end. Correct me if im wrong as iv not even got my vr yet..i pick it up this week, went and viewed it today and was impressed with the overall condition and the drive of it but found the induction to over the sound of the exhaust note. Any feedback welcome

    Whats needed for a supercharger? Map? Fuel pump?? It will be more an everyday car as ive got a jap import scooby for my weekend toy

    As above, which work best and which is cheaper to do? I know the supercharger is instant power depending on what turbo you use but overall which do you prefer?
