Hi everyone. I have a 2001 12v VR6 "AFP" that I'm rebuilding block up. I basically have an extra complete engine that I want to build for better performance. My idea is to destroke the engine by putting shorter connecting rods in which will lower the compression and increase high end power. For the loss in the low end I want to put a small turbo (T3/T4) with around 10 psi of boost. So here are my questions: -Will this make the engine non-interference? -Will this still be reliable? -Would I have to change the crank and what other mods would I need? Cams? Short Runner Intake? Hey everyone! I have a MK4 GTI VR6 (12v) that snapped a timing chain. I got a used 12v vr6 engine that has 140k miles on it from a wrecking yard which I will be rebuilding and swapping in. For the rebuild, I'm prepping it for a future turbo (cams, cai, giac chip, etc). I'm also replacing: Engine Mounts Clutch Crack Pipe All Gaskets Piston Rings Fuel Injectors Spark Plugs/ Wires Lifters Exhaust Throttle Body Flex Plate Water Pump Timing Chains Oil Pump I want to make sure I cover everything while doing the swap so here's my question: What do I need to do while the engine is out? Ill have more pics in a couple days. Building it up to 400whp Next step from stock is 268 Cams, stage 2 clutch/ lightweight flywheel, short shift kit, and magnaflow muffler. Eventually dynotune!

Hi All! I recently purchased a 2001 VW GTI VR6, 12v of course, with 120k miles and bone stock. Some punk kid owned it before me and obviously didn't know how to take care of a VR properly (whatever's in the cooling system is definitely not g12.. Lol). Anyway, other than the little things like replacing the crack pipe today and trying to find a damn vacuum leak, the gti is clean only 3 owners My plan is to do performance upgrades in stages since it is my DD.
