    Hello all! It’s been a minute since I’ve posted on here.. ended up buying an s3 that’s been keeping me on my toes so not had a lot of funds to put into the turbo build. Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel the golf is booked in at RK engineering in St Agnes (local VW specialist ) to have the ECU swapped over and turbo mapped in early June. ended up going with a Borgwarner s363 turbo looking to make around 500hp. Specs are VR6 2.8 12v AAA R32 Turbo Rods Schimmel 263 cams Borgwarner S363 Sachs Performance Clutch Fabless Hydraulic Clutch kit R32 Gearbox (4th gear support) Forg

    R32 gearbox with quiafe fitted! did a few pulls earlier and I can’t believe how much better it is! No my spinning the wheels at traffic lights lol, turbo plans have been delayed hopefully will be all done early February 2021 [emoji41]

    Quick update on the car, the r32 gearbox w/ quiafe is going in end of this month then the turbo early July looking at s300 borgwarner. Will try and get a video once it’s going [emoji1360]

    Yes I do remember you saying! I’m looking at selling the cream interior and having two recaro pole positions and a white half cage at the back [emoji51][emoji51], don’t I’ll be posting a lot more once I have the turbo [emoji1360]

    Hi guys , First post in a year because I’ve been too busy enjoying my VR6! But I’ve decided to sell my supercharger and finally go the turbo route, something I’ve been wanting to do since I had it rebuilt last year, I was hoping to get some advice on what turbo setup I’d need to hit around 500-600hp mark to suit the build I’ve got. specs are as follows; 9:1 compression Schimmel 263’s Forged Bottom end ARP all round V5 gearbox Stock vr6 clutch (replacing) I’ve been using the stock mk2 ecu but in the process of ordering an emu black. Any help would would be greatly appreciated,

    My last pic, has been tucked away in the garage since May last year after a blown head and few other problems I decided to SORN it till this summer, next weeks it's going to RK Engineering in St Agnes for the headgasket repair also purchased myself some schimmel 263's and Schimmel's highflow head package - can't wait!!

    Hello I'm about to get some work done to my VR in February and was looking at replacing the stock cams with the Schimmel 263's does anyone know if that is too big a jump from standard if I'm only running 6psi?

    Hi mate, well I believe so! I followed your advice and checked the radiator all seemed fine, also tried the cardboard to see anything under it but nothing - I did however notice a squeal from the engine bay after it warmed up and my supercharger wasn't completely on tight, and i believe that was the source of the noise, anyway... onto the important bit! I took it to RK Engineering in St Agnes who looked it over, basically HG had blown but not going into cylinders (could see small amount of residue coming from block after spraying compressed air, he then tighten the nearest head bolt to the lea

    Update! - On the drive home from work today car began to overheat again - checked expansion tank and it was empty, filled her up and took it steady on the way home (about 10 miles) and the temp gauge was barely reaching 60 degrees - not sure what to check now, thermostat? would a worn out water pump stop coolant flowing correctly? i'll pull the radiator off on the weekend and check it over Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Just thought id update - Mechanic told me that some coolant hoses weren't tightened up enough and could see visible dripping from them, after flushing the coolant it was driven about and temp was back to normal, will be keeping a close eye on it though

    Thanks! I'm hoping it's just a gasket and I won't have to have the head skimmed! ??

    As title suggests I believe I have headgasket failure , over the last few days I've noticed when I've been driving for around 20mins I can see the temp gauge getting up to around 110 degrees, the first time it happened I pulled over and saw steam coming from the expansion tank saw that the cap wasn't sitting flush so bought another and it seems to have fixed the problem, however it's leaking oil from just below the crankcase where big block meets upper - it's not a lot but I can see residue where it's come out.     Hi Just thought i'd give you an update, went with Adrian Flux they said if I waited till I was 21 they could give me a quote and i got 1900 quid fully comp thats with 1 year no claims which im pleased with considering the only other people that would insure me were '4youngdrivers' quoting 3500!! haha.     Hi mate I went up Wednesday morning (left cornwall at 5am! lol) and bought her there and then for a little over what it went for on ebay, really happy with it all it needs now is some wheels! I'll check out Adrian Flux as my mate chose then for his mk2 aswell
